In this guide, we will be showing you how to deploy the Zorus Windows Agent via Datto RMM.
Important Information:
- The Windows Agent can be installed on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Windows 10, & Windows 11
- To ensure complete functionality of the agent, Port 7789 must be allowed outbound in your firewall if you have an outbound filtering policy.
Once you have the DattoRMM Setup file installed on your customer's devices, you can begin the process of deploying the Zorus Agent by following the steps below.
Step 1 First, you'll need to make sure you import the Zorus Agent Install/Uninstall Component from the ComStore under the "Automation" tab.
Step 2 Once you've done that, navigate to the "Sites" section.
Step 3 Next, click on the name of the site with the devices you intend to deploy the agent.
Step 4 Once you're on the correct Site page, you can select the devices you want the agent installer to run on and then click "Schedule a Job".
Step 5 Now give your Job a name, choose when you want to schedule it to run and click "Add a Component".
Step 6 In the "Add Component" box, select the "Zorus Agent Install/Uninstall" component and then click Save.
Step 7 Next, you'll need to generate a Deployment Token from the Zorus Portal. This can be done by navigating to the Endpoints tab. Click "Generate Deployment Token" and copy the token that appears below.
Step 8A Now, back go back to the "Schedule a Job" page from before and paste the token you copied from the Zorus Portal in the text box that says "Token" underneath "Variables".
Step 8B Alternatively, you can set a site token variable for your Datto RMM customer so you won't need to input and/or remember the token every time you go to deploy within a given customer. To do this, first select "Setup", then choose "Global Settings".
Step 9 Now you'll scroll down to the bottom of the page until you see "Variables". Once there, click on "Add Variable" to add your site token.
Finally, you'll need to enter "SiteZorusDeploymentToken" (no quotes) as the variable name and then use the token you generated from Step 7 as the Variable Value.
If you use a site variable, you can leave the ZorusDeploymentToken field blank when you run the job.
After that, on the "Schedule a Job" page click "Save" and click "OK" on the job dialog box that pops up afterward.
From here, regardless of which way you choose to implement the token, the Zorus agent installer should run silently in the background on the devices you chose to deploy to.
